US futures are rising amid a fresh wave of optimism surrounding trade talks between Washington and Beijing.

Investors hope that this time both sides will manage to reach at least partial agreement on tariffs and lift some of the restrictions holding back global trade. Against this backdrop, the S&P 500 is up about 0.4%, while the Nasdaq strengthens after several days of decline.

Apple is once again setting the market tone: sales of the new iPhone 17 in the first ten days exceeded those of the previous model by 14%. China stands out — demand for the base version there has nearly doubled.

Analysts say the excitement was fueled by improved cameras, AI integration, and a lower starting price. Apple shares are up more than 2% in premarket trading.

In the luxury segment, a major deal: French holding Kering is selling its perfume business to L’Oreal for €4 billion.

Under the agreement, Gucci and Balenciaga beauty brands will move under L’Oreal’s management. The deal will strengthen L’Oreal’s position in the ultra-premium market and allow Kering to focus on fashion and accessories.

China released its GDP data: the economy grew 4.8% year over year — slightly above analysts’ expectations (4.6%) but still marking the slowest pace in the past 12 months. The main growth drivers were services and high-tech exports, while consumer activity remains moderate.

Gold is holding near its all-time high — $4,257 per ounce. Investors continue seeking protection against inflation and geopolitical uncertainty, while Asian central banks are increasing gold purchases.

What’s next?
This week — earnings reports from Tesla, Netflix, and General Electric. On Friday, fresh US inflation data (CPI) will be released, potentially setting the tone for markets heading into month-end.

Analysts warn: high volatility is likely to persist, so the “small steps” strategy with quick profit-taking remains a wise choice.

? What do you think — will Tesla surprise investors with its earnings report, or are we in for another volatile trading day?
