DoorDash is heading into the future: driverless delivery!

? On October 16, DoorDash officially announced a strategic partnership with Waymo — a subsidiary of Google specializing in autonomous technologies. This is not just an experiment, but a real step toward fully automated delivery, where the courier is no longer a person, but an AI on wheels.

Waymo has been testing robot cars in Phoenix for several years, and now the same vehicles will start delivering DoorDash orders via DashMart — the company’s own store network where customers can order food, drinks, and household items.

? How it works:
When placing an order, the user selects the “autonomous delivery” option. When the self-driving car arrives, the customer receives a notification and opens the trunk through the app, where the order is already waiting. All — contactless, driverless, and without traffic delays.

? Where it’s already implemented:
Tests are currently conducted in selected areas of Phoenix, where Waymo has permission for autonomous transport. DoorDash has already announced plans to expand the testing area to Los Angeles, where a parallel delivery project with Serve Robotics — small autonomous wheeled devices that deliver food on sidewalks directly to customers’ doors — is developing.

Why it matters:
DoorDash bets on automation, which reduces costs, solves the courier shortage problem, and speeds up delivery. At the same time, the company maintains service quality — customers still receive fresh and fast orders, but without the human factor.

Market reaction:
Investors greeted the news with enthusiasm. DoorDash (DASH) shares rose +3% to $280, reaching a historical high and staying above the $269 buy zone.
Since the beginning of the year, growth has already exceeded +70%, reflecting market confidence in the company’s future and its ability to leverage technology to strengthen its leadership in the delivery market.

Investor idea:

  • Support: $269
  • Target: $300
  • Stop: $265

? DoorDash is turning delivery into a futuristic tech attraction — no couriers, no waiting, no limits. And it seems this is just the beginning of a new era, where orders come not with a courier’s smile, but with an algorithm that knows exactly where you live and what you like for dinner.
