📉 Aeroflot shares drop nearly 4% amid flight cancellations caused by system failure

Today, July 28, 2025, Aeroflot shares dropped by nearly 4%, declining to around ₽56.5–56.8 per share, following the cancellation of approximately 42–49 flights due to a major IT system failure. Мы писали об этом здесь.

This was the sharpest drop since early July (at that time, Aeroflot’s shares also fell due to mass flight cancellations and schedule adjustments. However, those changes were attributed to “external factors” and affected all airlines).

The cause appears to be a cyberattack claimed by hacker groups Silent Crow and Cyber Partisans BY, who assert they spent a year infiltrating Aeroflot’s network, destroying around 7,000 servers, and stealing tens of terabytes of data. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has confirmed the hack and opened a criminal investigation
