Night vision, health tracking, and the metaverse – all right on your eyeball!

?️ Startup Xpanceo (UAE) has raised $250 million in funding to launch mass production of smart contact lenses.
The project is already valued at $1.35 billion, with market launch expected in 2027.

These lenses aim to turn the human eye into a hybrid of Terminator and Apple Watch – no wires, no screens, no headsets.

What Xpanceo lenses will do:

  • Night vision – see in the dark like a special ops soldier.
  • Health monitoring – measure heart rate, oxygen, and more in real time.
  • Augmented reality – navigation, notifications, text translation – right in front of your eyes.
  • Brain-computer interface – they don’t read thoughts (yet), but they whisper the future.

Anna Artamonova, co-founder of the startup, explains:
“Our goal is to replace smartphones, glasses, watches, and trackers with a single device that simply becomes part of you.”

Development began in 2021. The lenses have already passed successful trials on volunteers.
They promise to be safe, non-invasive, and fully compatible with everyday life.

? Expert opinions are mixed:

“Or it’s just Bluetooth contact lenses for $10,000,” one critic notes.

“If it works – it’s a quantum leap in personal tech,” says an AR industry analyst.
