? Chinese company Unitree Robotics has released the world’s most affordable humanoid robot – model R1, priced at just $5,900, according to Bloomberg.

By comparison, similar developments by Western companies like Boston Dynamics or Figure AI cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and are still in prototype or premium stages. But here – a ready-to-use product priced like a scooter.

What makes R1 interesting?

  • Weight: just 25 kg,
  • 26 moving joints,
  • Built-in AI with speech and image recognition,
  • Capable of autonomous movement and interaction with humans.

Unitree positions R1 as a platform for mass adoption – in households, logistics, education, and even the service industry. Imagine a robot waiter greeting you, taking your order, and smiling (or at least blinking LEDs).

? China Advances

The release of R1 is more than just tech news – it’s a wake-up call for the entire industry. China is clearly aiming to lead in the new robot economy by offering aggressively low prices and scalable solutions. This could radically change how we perceive robots in everyday life.

Price reduction is the key to mass adoption. Once a futuristic luxury, humanoid robots are now potential assistants in offices, shops, factories – and even homes.
