🤖 There’s no escaping ChatGPT these days — it has become a part of daily life. Our editorial team has covered it more than once, and we surely will again
Today, OpenAI reported a new record: the ChatGPT chatbot is approaching 700 million active users per week. According to Nick Turley, OpenAI’s VP and head of ChatGPT, the user base has grown from 500M in March to 700M, with a fourfold increase over the past year. More and more people are turning to ChatGPT not just for fun, but for learning, creativity, and solving complex problems.
“Huge thanks to the team for making ChatGPT even more useful. Our mission is to make AI accessible to everyone,” Turley said.
Analytics firm Sensor Tower reports that users open the ChatGPT app an average of 12 times per month — more than most mobile services. Only Google and X (formerly Twitter) rank higher.
The average usage time is 16 minutes per day, which experts say confirms that ChatGPT has firmly integrated into everyday routines.
One of the biggest growth drivers in 2025 was the launch of image generation powered by GPT-4. According to OpenAI’s COO Brad Lightcap, over 700 million images were generated in just the first week.
