The new ChatGPT agent is a fusion of several of OpenAI’s earlier tools:

• Operator – a virtual assistant that can click through websites and fill out forms
• Deep Research – a tool for gathering data from dozens of sites and compiling it into a concise analytical report

Now you can interact with the tool directly in a natural-language chat with ChatGPT – no technical jargon, no coding needed. Just activate agent mode in the ChatGPT tools menu.

Initially, the agent is available for Pro, Plus, and Team users.

What can the new agent do?

OpenAI claims this agent outperforms all current alternatives. It can:

• access the terminal and use APIs
