Artificial Intelligence Makes Movies: Meet Sora

🎬 This week, the tech world received another impressive tool from OpenAI — the video generator Sora, which promises to change the approach to creating video content. This neural network can generate videos from text and images, automatically adding voiceover and dynamic editing effects. Sora’s standout feature is the noticeable improvement in motion physics: characters and objects on screen now move more naturally, and scene transitions have become smoother and more striking.

What’s particularly interesting is that Sora is already equipped with everything needed for deepfakes: from precise facial expression matching to lip-syncing with voice. At the same time, the generator integrates the voiceover directly with the video, saving hours of post-production work.

Currently, access to Sora is limited: officially, the service is only available to users in the US and Canada and is invite-only. But, as usual, boundaries can be bypassed — there are already ways to access it online, and some paid Telegram bots offer generation through Sora.

Experts predict that the service will become more accessible soon, especially considering recent trends: most video generators actively update their versions and provide free access for a limited time to attract an audience.

Sora’s direct competitor is Wan — a Chinese neural network from Alibaba. It also allows generating videos from text and images with automatic voiceover, and does so for free and without a VPN. In terms of generation quality, Wan can compete with Sora, especially for users outside the US and Canada.

Considering the trend in the video generator market, it’s safe to assume that competition will become even fiercer in the coming months, and new service versions will not only improve video quality but also expand functionality, making video generation accessible to everyone. So even if access is currently limited, it’s worth keeping an eye on Sora and its competitors — very soon, these tools may become part of everyday creative work and marketing.

🎥 For those who want to see the new generator in action, our Telegram channel already has examples of videos created from photos of a kitten. There, you can evaluate both the realism of motion and the quality of the voiceover.
