Apple plugs into the Polish sun

☀️ The American corporation Apple has signed a 19-year contract to purchase electricity from a solar farm in the town of Resko (West Pomeranian Voivodeship), Rzeczpospolita reports, citing Polish Radio.

The 40-megawatt power plant was built by the Israeli company Ecoenergy and is expected to start operating by the end of this year. Under the terms of the agreement, Apple will buy about 75% of all the electricity produced, effectively becoming the farm’s main “solar client.”

This project is part of Apple’s broader strategy in Europe. The company is actively investing in renewable energy sources (RES) in Spain, Romania, and Italy, aiming to provide “clean” power for its data centers, offices, and partners. By 2030, Apple plans to achieve fully carbon-neutral operations worldwide.

For Poland, the participation of such a giant is not just an investment — it’s a sign of technological and energy maturity. A country where coal still plays a significant role is receiving a clear signal: the future belongs to green energy.

Analysts note that such contracts are reshaping the market landscape. When large corporations like Apple sign long-term agreements for the supply of “green” energy, they effectively guarantee stability for investors and accelerate the development of the renewable energy sector. As a result, projects that were once considered “experimental” are turning into profitable and reliable businesses.

? You could say that the solar panels in Resko will now work not only for light but also for a symbol — a symbol that the shift to sustainable energy is no longer a trendy slogan but a survival strategy for major players.
