Тop 5 Rookie Mistakes That Make Your Crypto Vanish

Or how not to lose your Bitcoin and your sanity

💀 The crypto world is like the Wild West: there’s gold under your feet, but if you’re not watching your step, you’ll lose both the gold and your boots.

Here are the classic traps that catch beginners:

1. They take a photo of their seed phrase

Why it’s bad:
Every photo goes straight to the cloud (Google Photos, iCloud etc). Hack the cloud – steal the seed – steal everything. It’s like posting your apartment keys in your Instagram stories… with the address.

What to do instead:
Write down your seed phrase by hand. Twice. Store in different places. Ideally in a fireproof safe. But at least not under your keyboard.

2. They enter their recovery phrase on a shady website

Why it’s bad:
Phishing sites pretend to be Metamask, TrustWallet, even Binance. You enter the seed – goodbye crypto. Three seconds later it’s being farmed by some guy in Manila.

What to do instead:
Never. Ever. Enter your seed phrase online. Real wallets never ask for your seed after initial setup.

3. They download wallets from unofficial sources

Why it’s bad:
There are fake wallet apps out there, especially in Google Play or online ads. You install one – and happily hand over everything to your new internet “friends.”

What to do instead:
Only download from official websites or trusted app stores. Don’t click on ads! More malware than discounts there.

4. They go all-in on “X100 in a week” projects

Why it’s bad:
Anyone promising fast profits with zero risk is either running a scam, a pyramid… or both. These tokens moon quickly, then crash like a Tinder date who called themselves a “day trader.”

What to do instead:
Do your own research. Check the team, the project, the whitepaper. Don’t invest more than you can afford to lose. And don’t trust anyone named CryptoGuru228.

5. They forget their passwords and access

Why it’s bad:
Half of all Bitcoin is stuck in wallets no one can access. Wanna join that exclusive “oops club”? Your memory is not a cold storage vault.

What to do instead:
Store your passwords, seed phrases, and logins in a secure password manager. Or go old-school – paper. But not your phone Notes app!

⚠️ Bonus tip:

Don’t be greedy – be smart.
If someone messages you “Send me some crypto and I’ll double it” – they’re a scammer. And you’re one click away from becoming a cautionary tale.
