Double spending is an attempt to spend the same digital coin twice.
Before Bitcoin, this was the main problem of digital money — a file can simply be copied. Satoshi Nakamoto solved it using the blockchain, where all transactions are recorded and confirmed by the network.
If someone tries to send the same Bitcoin twice, the system rejects the second transaction. In other words, Bitcoin made it impossible to “copy money.”
